Professor Jessica Gilpatrick holds an MFA in Creative Writing from the University of Southern Maine’s Stonecoast Program and a B.A. in English from Wheaton College in Massachusetts, with a minor in Comparative International Politics. She is the recipient of a Ludwig Vogelstein grant in support of her writing and has been published in a variety of regional and national publications, such as Healthy Living Magazine.
Outside of her professional life, Jessica is an avid reader and writer and is currently working on her first novel. She also serves on the board of directors for Literacy Volunteers Waterville Area. Her husband is an ultra-athlete, which means that he runs distances of up to 100 miles, so she finds herself in a lot of beautiful locations supporting him at races. They live with two troublesome cats as well as their frug (french bulldog/pug) puppy, Tina Jean Tater. Jessica is from the Belgrade Lakes region of Maine and has also lived in Hawaii, Oregon, and Massachusetts.
